Principal Technology Incorporated Hires Gordon G. Smith as GM

Smith to manage firm’s Systems Integration Group

Plano, Texas – Feb 19, 2013 – Principal Technology Inc., a provider of total system solutions for natural gas, refining, chemical, process and manufacturing facilities, has hired Gordon G. Smith as general manager of the Systems Integration Group.

Smith is responsible for overseeing Principal Technology’s Systems Integration Group that provides design-build and build-to-print process skids, industrial control systems, system configuration, programming and function testing, and streamlined material control services for the industrial fabrication industry. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Smith is accustomed to managing and developing new sales accounts, working with customers to review project specifications and needs, developing cost effective instrument and control packages and more.

Prior to joining Principal Technology Incorporated, Smith served as the director of engineering, environmental systems for Peerless Manufacturing, Co., a company that designs and manufactures OEM gas filtration/separation and pollution abatement equipment used in the petroleum, nuclear and power generation industries. As director, Smith managed a project engineering schedule for a multi million a year business group. He also worked with the sales team to develop “make-to-order” and “engineer-to-order” product groups for rapid proposal generation and accurate cost estimates.

Smith was also engineering manager of Vector Systems, Inc, a company specializing in the engineering and fabrication of specialized equipment used in the power generation, power distribution, oil/gas processing and manufacturing industries. In his role as manager, Smith defined company engineering standards for piping, structural, instrumentation, electrical and controls for chemical process equipment in compliance with ASME, AWS, ANSI, EN and ISA.

Smith received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Massachusetts.
