Don Wallace

As Vice President of Design Operations, Don Wallace brings a wealth of experience to the Principal Technology, Inc. team. With over four decades in the field, Don’s myriad roles and experiences enable him to provide valuable knowledge on a wide variety of projects.

While working on his education in Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Missouri, Don began his career with Trailmobile in 1977 before moving on to Ford, Bacon & Davis, Inc., where he worked from 1981-1989 as Senior Piping Design, Piping Design Squad Leader and Field Engineering Liaison. In 1989, Don was hired to work at TPA Inc. as a Project Coordinator. Since 2000, Don has been working at Principal Technology Engineering, bringing his knowledge and experience to work on projects of various sizes.

Don has contributed his experience as a Mechanical Drafter, Piping Designer, and Project Coordinator to both Grassroots and Revamp projects such as SRU (CLAUS/CBA), Tail Gas Treating, Amine Treating, Sour Water Stripper, Naptha Reformer, Process and Power Boiler, Crude/Vacuum Unit, Isomerization Unit, and Gas Compressor Stations.

In addition, Don’s experience as Project Coordinator and Technical Specialist has contributed to the success of PTI projects such as rebuilding a 250 LTPD SRU, multiple grassroots Modular SRUs, Modular Amine Regeneration Units, and numerous process skids for industrial facilities.

In his current role as Vice President and Director of Design Operations, Don prepares proposals, develops schedules and budgets for engineering and design projects, manages personnel as well as projects, and develops standards and procedures for Piping, Mechanical, Instruments, and Electrical design disciplines. In addition to these roles, Don’s experience enables him to mentor and nurture others at PTI, a role in which he excels. Don is an invaluable leader in the company as he oversees operations, participates in Strategic Corporate Planning, and assists in implementing corporate objectives. Whether working on a small $50,000 revamp or a $25+ MM EPC project, Don’s vast experience and leadership have been a driving force in the success of Principal Technology, Inc.
