Francisco J. Urueta, P.E.

Francisco brings his knowledge of Electrical Engineering to the team at Principal Technology, Inc. (PTI). Francisco began his career at BSW International, where he worked as an engineering intern. After receiving a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, he went on to expand his electrical and instrument engineering experience at Willbros Inc., FAA, and Englobal Engineering, Inc.

Francisco is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas with a specialty in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Controls. Since being hired at PTI in 2007, Francisco has been instrumental in the success of projects including sulfur recovery, ammonia storage and handling, water management, amine treating, chemical batch processes, sour water stripping, Urethane production, and heavy oil production.

Being fluent in Spanish and English has enabled Francisco to communicate effectively with many workers in the field. He is also experienced in several software packages, including SMK Powertools, Rslogix500, Rslogix5000, FactoryTalkView, Honeywell HC900, GE Fanuc, and Siemens WinCC, among others.

In his leadership role as Manager of Electrical and Instrument Engineering at PTI, Francisco performs and oversees numerous functions, including arc flash and other electrical studies, as well as developing motor and control wiring schematics, one-line diagrams, lighting plans, cable schedules, grounding plans, and area classification drawings. Francisco’s project work also includes the development of control system architecture, instrument spec sheets, sizing critical instruments, and overseeing the development of instrument systems design.

Francisco’s invaluable experience and strong work ethic make him an integral member of the Principal Technology, Inc. team.
