With over thirty years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Matt Hodson brings a sharp analytical mind to Principal Technology, Inc. Working on each component of myriad and varied projects from conceptual design to fruition has enabled Matt to have the ability to see not only the individual components of integrated systems but also how they will work together to encompass the full scope of a project.

After receiving a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, Matt was hired by TPA, Inc in Dallas, where he worked as a mechanical engineer, project engineer, and project manager on modular and stick-built Sulfur Recovery, Amine, Sour Water Treating units as well as thermal oxidizers and ultra-high purity chemical production facilities. Matt then joined Principal Technology, where he serves as President and CEO.

In the past twenty-five years, Matt has managed projects ranging in scope from chemical batch processes and urethane production to sulfur recovery, amine treating, sour water processing, and tail gas treating for companies including Texaco Refining, BP Petroleum, Holly Frontier, Mapei, Phillips Petroleum, and Exxon. In addition to projects in the oil and gas field, Principal Technology, Inc. also executes a broad array of projects for industrial manufacturers, water and wastewater treatment, engineering services, chemical and production manufacturing.

As a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Kansas, Matt’s skill set includes mechanical and project engineering, instrumentation, and automation controls.

“I was fortunate that Charles Jinks, the former President of TPA, Inc., threw me
into the deep end of the pool right out of school. Early in my career, I had the
opportunity to work as a Project Engineer on several very large and complex
modular projects for international clientele. The experience was invaluable both
personally and professionally.”

Managing the business and the crew at PTI is a full-time job, but we are fortunate to have a first-class management team that allows Matt the time to feed his professional passion of working on automation and control projects for PTI’s industrial and SCADA clients.
