Burner Management with Integral Fuel Train

Burner Management or Combustion Control systems are excellent examples of complete engineered systems.   The process control and safety system logic solver is critical for safe boiler or furnace operation.  To operate correctly, however, the safety system must be tightly integrated with the fuel train.  Purge flow rates, fuel:air ratio, flame scanners, and shutdown valve proving devices are just a few of the system elements that must be coordinated between the control system and fuel train.

Electric Process Heating Systems

Electric process heaters require a multi-discipline engineering approach to design and build a heater system with the longevity needed to meet the demanding performance of 24/7/365 operations.

PTI engineers have the expertise and experience to design these process gas heaters to meet this challenging environment. Our process engineers consider the electric element heat flux as a function of the process heat transfer performance and mass flow rates.

Our control engineers utilize this process data to establish a safe operating envelope for these heaters. By using cascading PID controllers, our control strategy prevents runaway electric heater sheath temperatures during process upsets, which helps protect the electric elements from burn-out.

Finally, our electrical engineers size the heater circuits, power panels, and SCR controllers to modulate the heater load. Our HPP design incorporates integral Over-Temperature Shutdown Interlocks to provide a final layer of protection for the engineered heater system.

Water Filtration Equipment Skid

Modular Process Equipment skids are an efficient way to integrate multiple systems onto a unitized skid that can be fabricated, tested, and dropped in place with minimal impact on your current operations.  

Principal Technology designed and built this water pump and filtration skid in our Plano, Texas facility.  The engineered system required structural, process & mechanical, electrical, and control system engineering.   The completed skid was packaged for export and shopped to our client’s plant.
